Audrey is nearly 16 months old, and it's been amazing watching her grow up; it's all happening so fast!!! Just a precious few months ago, she was sleeping in our apartment in San Francisco, sleeping 5 hours with us walking carefully near where she was sleeping so she wouldn't wake up. Now, she sleeps 10 hours in a crib and we don't worry about the noise we make walking down the hallway from our house in Pleasant Hill.
Today, I took her into work for an hour or so while mommy had a meeting at her work before they want to the airport to pick up Poppa. Normally when Audrey is out and seeing people, she is not shy about speaking up and saying "HI!" But today with my co-workers, she was far more quiet and shy about speaking up. Two exceptions: 1) she had no problem running up to couches in the hallway and banging on the cushions; 2) she loved banging on some blinds and making a lot of noise. But being very happy. And that pretty much sums up Audrey- making noise, not making noise, but always being happy.
I can't imagine any better way to have spent the past 16 months than watching Audrey keep food down, sit up on her own, her first smile, her first word (dada), her first steps, and all the other firsts that are cliche....the thing about cliches though, they are true. Audrey is one amazing little girl, and that's only in the first 16 months.
